Update on withholding tax and stamp duties (2025)
Workshop by Thomas Jaussi and Markus Küpfer on the occasion of the ISIS) seminar on June 02 + 03, 2025 entitled "Update on withholding tax and stamp duties"
Staying up to date is a major challenge given the rapid evolution of tax legislation and practice. The goal of this annual seminar is to provide participants with a thorough and up-to-date overview of the latest developments in corporate tax law, including legislation, administrative practice, and case law.
The workshops offered provide participants with the opportunity to learn about the most important new developments in a compact and focused manner over two seminar days and to deepen their understanding using practical case studies. In each workshop, both the perspective of the tax authorities and that of the taxpayers are examined by a representative from the field. Participants can thus benefit both from the speakers’ extensive practical experience in daily tax practice and from their insight into the latest developments in case law and legislation.
The seminar discusses tax law issues for companies and their stakeholders using selected case studies. Both the specific tax challenges facing partnerships and the tax pitfalls for corporations are explored in depth during the workshops. Of course, the topic of corporate restructuring is also covered, with a dedicated workshop devoted to it. And as always, in addition to updates on withholding tax and stamp duties, as well as in-depth discussions on specific tax issues facing SMEs, current developments in the area of intercantonal and international corporate tax law will be discussed.
The program includes seven workshops, six of which can be attended; that is, in addition to five “fixed” workshops, participants can choose on the spot whether they would like to attend the “VAT Update” or “Transfer Pricing Documentation” workshop. Regardless of this choice, participants will receive detailed materials and guidance on solutions for all workshops.
As always, the program includes a guest lecture; this time, we will examine tax law from a philosophical perspective.
