These Terms of Use govern the relationship between you, as a user of the platform www.zsis.ch (“zsis”), and us, the Institute for Swiss and International Tax Law (“ISIS”), as the provider of digital content related to tax law (“Platform Content”). They also serve as the General Terms and Conditions between ISIS and you. By using the Platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from accessing our services.

Through zsis), you can read, browse, purchase, or download free or paid platform content. The copyright to the platform content remains with ISIS, a licensor, or a licensor.
Certain free content requires registration on our platform (see “User Account” below). This applies, for example, to reading articles, downloading article PDFs, and subscribing to quarterly issues. This account is free of charge.
As a user, you agree—particularly when redistributing the relevant file and content—not to remove or conceal (e.g., through reformatting) the automatically added notice or the link to the original source on zsis, even after printing it on paper.
The relevant contract is concluded upon completion of the purchase process, i.e., upon confirmation of the completed credit card payment or confirmation of the purchase on account. All payments (including applicable taxes, in particular value-added tax) must be made in Swiss francs. Any fees for accessing digital content via your PC or one of your mobile devices are entirely at your expense.
By purchasing paid content, you agree that your email address may be used by the Institute for Swiss and International Tax Law (ISIS) for promotional purposes.
Upon purchasing paid platform content, ISIS grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable right of use, limited in time and to you personally, to access the platform content, which cannot be terminated during the term of use.
Access to purchased video streams is time-limited. Unless otherwise stated in the product description, you have access to the video (streaming) of the purchased webinar for a period of three months (from the date of purchase). Access is granted via your profile. After this period, you lose your right to access.
Paid downloadable materials such as PDF documents, PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, or similar are available for a period of at least six months (from the date of purchase). The right to access expires after this period. However, ISIS may decide to make the materials available for a longer period.

As the author of content published on zsis.ch in the “Article” format, you grant ISIS the royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable right to use the relevant article as described below. As the author, you remain entitled to use the content you have produced yourself in the same manner.
As the author, you are obligated to include a note and a link to the original source on zsis when distributing the content yourself; if this is already included, you must not remove or conceal it (e.g., through reformatting), even after printing it on paper.
ISIS may distribute and make the content available on its own websites or via databases/compilations and platforms, as well as in any other form—digital or printed, in full or in part, free of charge or for a fee—and may, for this purpose, also reproduce and appropriately adapt it. ISIS may create summaries and (automated) indexes, as well as use technical tools to supplement the content with references to the original sources (court decisions, laws, etc.) and assign keywords/tags.
As the author, you warrant to ISIS that you are the copyright holder of the submitted content or that you have obtained the exploitation rights from any assistants you engaged in its creation. In particular, you warrant that you will not commit plagiarism but will cite the source when using content from other authors.
As an author, you further warrant to ISIS that you are authorized to grant ISIS a right of use in accordance with this agreement, i.e., that no other agreements you have entered into with third parties (employment contracts, publishing contracts, etc.) preclude such use. In the event that you have entered into a rights management agreement with, for example, ProLitteris or Imagesuisse, you must inform ISIS of this immediately.
This agreement between you as the author and ISIS also applies to your legal successors.
The user account on zsis) is free of charge. You access it by logging in with your email address and personal password. In addition to this information, your first and last name are registered in the account. You also have the option to enter your billing information (for any product purchases).
If you register as a user on zsis) and store your data, you are obligated to protect your login credentials (including your password) from unauthorized access by third parties, to treat them confidentially, and not to disclose them to anyone. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any loss, theft, or unauthorized use of your login credentials (password, name, email address, etc.).
ISIS is entitled to suspend or delete user accounts at any time and without prior notice if there are reasonable grounds to suspect a violation of these Terms of Use, misuse of the platform, or illegal activities.
You may have your user account deleted at any time without providing a reason. To do so, simply send a notification to hello@zsis.ch.
The zsis) platform and all its content are protected by copyright. Any use or exploitation outside of our offerings is prohibited without prior written permission from ISIS or a separate written agreement, such as with an author. Neither the entire content nor any part thereof may be reproduced in any form—including all technical and digital methods. This prohibition specifically includes reproduction, translation, as well as storage and processing in electronic databases.
The platform content provided by ISIS was created to the best of our knowledge and belief at the time of creation. However, neither ISIS nor the author assumes any warranty for the accuracy of the platform content or contributions, or that no third-party rights may be infringed thereby.
Although we are committed to ensuring high quality, diligence, and availability of our platform, we cannot rule out temporary restrictions and outages (service interruptions, troubleshooting, maintenance work, etc.). Your access to and use of the platform content and posts is at your own risk. Any warranty regarding the accessed content is therefore expressly excluded.
The content provided on the platform is intended solely for general information purposes and does not constitute individual legal, tax, or other advice.
Furthermore, our liability for services provided by third parties and agents is excluded. This also applies to links to third-party content and offers, for the legality, accuracy, completeness, and availability of which we assume no responsibility or liability. Likewise, we are not liable for damages caused by computer viruses and other harmful computer programs such as malware or spyware.
Our liability is in any case limited to intentional or grossly negligent breaches of contractual and non-contractual obligations for which we are responsible and which have been proven to us. Our liability for consequential damages and lost profits is excluded.
We reserve the right and may be required to amend the provisions of these Terms of Use. We will publish such amendments immediately. It is your responsibility to regularly review the currently applicable Terms of Use.
All disputes arising from or in connection with zsis) shall be governed exclusively by Swiss law, excluding conflict of laws provisions and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
